Charity Work
On the following Pages, You will find information about the work that we do for Charity, and why.
History
In 1999, Nick Tester was helping his friend to recondition old Pentium Computers, to send to Romanian Orphanages, for Children who require Computers for Educational Purposes, who have no way to buy Them for Themselves..
Unfortunately, the Venue where they were doing this decided to ask the Computers to leave, for reasons that were not fully understood.
(We believe it may have been for reasons linked to health and safety.).
Due to the requirement to move quickly, many Systems had to be thrown away, needlessly.
Today, Nick's Team still works to bring Computers back to a workable Standard, for those who would otherwise be unable to buy a Computer, who genuinely need one for Educational, or Charitable Purposes.
The name, "Short Circuit", was inspired by a certian 80's Film.
The name really encompasses what We are about: We aim to collect, rebuild and redistribute Systems in a short amount of time, while at the same time redistributing Them to Local People, where possible.
(Without the need for it to go to a Land Fill Site.).
This is smiled on by Local Businesses, who would usually have to pay to have such Items taken to or accepted by Civic Amenity Centres.
Short Circuit would like to give a special thanks to, "The Bit Bucket", of Scarrots Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight.
- Who frequently donate Computer Parts to this Charity.

Who do We give Computers to?
To Qualify for a Computer, you just have to either be in full time education, or working for an Caritible Organisation, for which You require a Computer System.
If You require a Computer, and believe that you qualify, please fill in the Form below.
N.B. There is a New System in Place.
Due to a lack of Hard Drives being donated, and a strong desire to keep this Charity with as few Financial Donations as possible, Short Circuit will install Operating Systems to Your own Personal USB. Flash Drive, which will not be donated by Short Circuit.

Donations
We are currently collecting Computers in The Isle of Wight.
We are currently short of Monitors, and Kettle Leads.
(Old Non-HD. Flat Screens, and Cube Monitors will be great, working or not, Thank You.).
Our priorities are:
Students
We would prefer donations of Computers, that would otherwise be thrown away at the Civic Amenity Centre, so that it doesn't cost You a thing.
However, Logistics are getting expensive.
Additionally, Hard Drives are not generally forthcoming with Computer Systems, (due to Data Protection,) and the rare times that They are, the wear and tear on Them is at such an extent, that they aren't really good enough to use.
For this reason, you will discover a Donate Button at the bottom of this Page.
(We believe that Charity shouldn't be about money, so We're trying to keep it subtle.).
If You have a Computer that You would like to donate, or parts, no matter what condition they are in, please fill in the form below.
Please give as little or as much as you like.
Thank you.
